Trek MadonevsCanyon Aeroad
A side-by-side UK buyer's guide to help you pick the right type of bike for how you actually ride.
Overview
Aero road at the sharp end, from two very different sellers. The Madone is Trek's aero flagship, with an IsoFlow cutout in the seat tube that adds a little compliance while keeping the weight down. The Aeroad is Canyon's WorldTour aero bike, sold direct so you get more for the money. Both are fast, deep-tubed race bikes built to hold speed.

Frequently asked questions
Is the Madone or Aeroad more comfortable?
The Madone, marginally. Its IsoFlow seat-tube cutout adds a little compliance that a pure aero frame like the Aeroad does not, though both are firm race bikes. Neither is an endurance bike, so for real all-day comfort look at a Domane or Endurace instead.
Which is better value?
The Aeroad, usually. Canyon sells direct, so you get more aero spec for the money, with the trade-off of no local dealer for fitting or service. The Madone costs more but a Trek shop is rarely far away.
Are aero bikes like these worth it?
If you ride fast on flat or rolling roads, yes, the aero gain is real at speed. If you mostly climb or potter, a lighter all-round or endurance bike will suit you better.
