- Fraud monitoring: unusual payment patterns trigger additional review.
What Happens if a Payment Fails
Common causes and fixes:
- Card declined by bank, your bank may have flagged the transaction. A quick call usually clears it.
- Insufficient funds, try a different card or payment method.
- 3D Secure timeout, complete the authentication challenge within the time window your bank gives you.
- Expired card, update your card details and retry.
- BNPL provider declined, Klarna or Clearpay declined the application. Try a standard card payment.
If payments keep failing and the causes above are not the issue, [contact support](/help/contact) with the time and amount of the attempted payment and we will investigate.
Refunds
Refunds are processed back to the original payment method. Card refunds typically take 5 to 10 working days to appear in your account. Apple Pay and Google Pay follow the underlying card's timing. Klarna and Clearpay refunds are handled by the provider within their standard refund window.
