Transparent Pricing on Cyclesite

How Cyclesite pricing works: a one-off listing fee paid up front, no percentage of your sale on classified listings, and every fee shown before you or the buyer commits.

Last updated 22 April 2026

Private classified sales are priced as a flat listing fee, tiered by asking price and shown before you publish. For Buyer Protection sales, the platform keeps a small percent of the sale price to cover escrow and dispute resolution; this is shown at checkout before either side commits.

How Our Pricing Works

Cyclesite supports two ways to sell, and we show you every fee up front. No surprises, no percentage of your sale on private classifieds, and no ongoing cost on unsold listings.

Option 1: Private Classified Sale

You advertise with a transparent one-off listing fee (shown before you publish). The buyer contacts you, you arrange collection directly, and Cyclesite takes nothing from the sale itself. This is the default on collection-only listings and the lowest-cost way to sell on the platform.

Option 2: Buyer Protection With Secure Delivery

Optional, the buyer opts in at checkout. Cyclesite holds the payment in escrow, the courier ships the bike, and funds release to you after the 48-hour inspection window passes. A small platform transaction fee covers payment processing, buyer protection and dispute resolution, shown on the order summary at checkout and on your payout breakdown before you commit.

This route exists for buyers who want extra reassurance on higher-value bikes they cannot collect in person. Sellers can offer both collection and delivery on the same listing; the buyer picks.

Where the Fees Sit

  • Listing fee, paid when you publish. Tiered by package, shown before you pay. Non-refundable once the listing is live.
  • Platform transaction fee, applies only on Buyer Protection sales. Shown up front on the order summary and again on your payout breakdown.
  • Buyer Protection fee, paid by the buyer, not the seller. Shown on the order summary at checkout.
  • Shipping, paid by the buyer on delivery sales. Quoted live at checkout from our courier partner.
  • Boosts and promotions, optional extras sellers can add during the listing. Each is priced and explained on the upgrade screen.

See [our pricing page](/pricing) for current figures on every package and boost.

Frequently asked questions

How do Cyclesite fees compare to percentage-based marketplaces?

For a private classified listing where you deal directly with the buyer (typically collection in person), the listing fee is the total platform cost. Cyclesite takes no percentage of your sale. Percentage-based marketplaces would take a commission on every sale regardless of how the buyer receives the bike, on higher-value bikes, that quickly becomes the difference between a good sale and a great one.

Is there any hidden cost I should know about?

No. Every fee is shown up front, the listing fee before you publish, the Buyer Protection fee (if the buyer chooses it) on the order summary at checkout, and the platform transaction fee on your payout breakdown. Nothing is added after the fact.

Do I pay anything if my bike does not sell?

Only the one-off listing fee you paid when publishing. There is no ongoing cost for an unsold listing, and no fee to edit, relist or cancel.

Where do I see current prices?

The full breakdown, private listing packages, boosts and business plans, lives on [our pricing page](/pricing). The same figures appear in the listing flow before you pay.
