Many sellers offer collection only, but Buyer Protection delivery covers the UK via our integrated couriers. Shipping cost is shown at checkout before you commit.

Delivery on Cyclesite

Cyclesite ships non-electric bikes through [Paisley Freight](https://www.paisleyfreight.com/bike-courier), a UK bike-specialist courier. Electric bikes are collection-only, see the e-bike section below for why.

Our Shipping Partner

Paisley Freight. The specialist bike courier we use for every non-electric shipment. They collect a packed bike from the seller's door, deliver the next working day on most UK mainland routes, and include standard liability cover on every booking, with paid upgrades available.

Sellers choose at listing time whether to supply the bike box themselves or have Paisley supply one. The second option is useful if you do not already have a bike box, Paisley delivers a bike box, bubble wrap and tape to the seller first, then collects once it is packed. Either way, the buyer sees a single shipping price on the order summary at checkout, quoted live for the specific listing.

How Shipping Works

1. Buyer pays at checkout. The shipping cost is included in the total and held in escrow alongside the bike payment. 2. Cyclesite books Paisley Freight. Our operations team books the collection using the dimensions, addresses, contact details and declared value from the listing. 3. Collection. Paisley Freight collects from the seller Monday to Friday during working hours. 4. Transit. Next working day on most UK mainland routes. Highlands, Northern Ireland and the Isle of Man take longer. 5. Delivery. Door-to-door. You receive the Paisley tracking reference as soon as the collection is booked. 6. Buyer Protection starts. Your 48-hour inspection window begins the moment delivery is recorded.

Electric Bikes

Cyclesite does not ship electric bikes. Paisley Freight's restricted-items list prohibits all batteries including lithium-ion, and marks electric bikes as at-owner's-risk with no liability cover available. Every other UK courier available to private sellers either refuses batteries outright or requires dangerous-goods paperwork individual sellers cannot realistically provide.

E-bikes on Cyclesite sell collection-only. At launch all sales, e-bike and non-e-bike alike, are collection, and payment is arranged directly between buyer and seller at the meet-up. Stripe escrow with the 48-hour inspection window returns once courier delivery goes live (it relies on a verified seller-redeemed handover PIN that is still being rolled out).

In-Person Collection

For local purchases on any bike type, you can arrange collection with the seller through the platform. Payment still runs through Cyclesite at checkout so you are covered by Buyer Protection (if you opted in) until you confirm the bike is as described. Collection saves the shipping fee entirely.

Insurance and Claims

Every shipment is insured up to the full sale value of the bike. If anything goes wrong in transit, loss, damage, late delivery, you are refunded in full and we handle the claim on your behalf. There is no excess to the buyer. See [How Buyer Protection works](/help/buying/buyer-protection) for dispute mechanics.

International Delivery

Cyclesite ships within the UK only, mainland GB, Northern Ireland, and addressable islands. We do not ship internationally. If the bike needs to travel abroad after purchase, onward shipping is your responsibility once it has arrived at your UK delivery address.

Frequently asked questions

How much does it cost to ship a bike?

Shipping is quoted live at checkout from our partner, Paisley Freight. The exact amount appears on the order summary before you pay, based on the bike dimensions and the collection and delivery postcodes. Two tiers are available, you supply the bike box, or Paisley supplies a box, bubble wrap and tape.

Who delivers the bike?

Paisley Freight, a UK bike-specialist courier. They collect a packed bike from the seller's door and deliver it to you on the next working day across most of the UK mainland. The service includes standard liability cover with paid upgrades available.

How long does delivery take?

Next working day on most UK mainland routes once Paisley Freight has collected the bike. Collection is scheduled within 1 to 3 working days of the buyer's payment clearing. The Scottish Highlands and Islands, Northern Ireland and the Isle of Man are off the next-day network and may take 3 to 5 additional working days.

Can I buy an electric bike and have it shipped?

No. Electric bikes on Cyclesite are collection-only. UK couriers will not carry lithium-ion batteries without dangerous-goods paperwork private sellers cannot realistically provide. At launch every sale is collection-only, and payment is arranged directly between buyer and seller at pickup, Stripe escrow with the 48-hour inspection window returns once courier delivery (and the verified handover flow) goes live.

What if my bike is damaged in transit?

Every shipment is insured against transit damage, and Cyclesite's Buyer Protection covers the full sale value on top of the courier cover. Claims must be raised within the 48-hour inspection window, so inspect the bike as soon as it arrives, see [How Buyer Protection works](/help/buying/buyer-protection).

Can I collect a bike in person instead?

Yes. For local purchases you can arrange collection with the seller through the platform. Payment still runs through Cyclesite at checkout for your protection, but you avoid the shipping fee entirely.
