Partner Data API Terms
Cyclesite does not currently operate a public data API. Partner access is granted case by case under these Terms.
1. Current Status
Cyclesite does not currently publish a self-service data API. Aggregated market figures — price indices, depreciation curves and market health signals — are shared on request with a limited number of journalists, researchers and commercial partners. Access is granted on a case-by-case basis, typically as scheduled data extracts or a time-limited credentialed endpoint.
2. Scope
These Terms apply to any aggregated data Cyclesite provides to an approved partner under this arrangement, including any derived data that partner caches, republishes or quotes. They do not apply to the private APIs used by the Cyclesite website and apps.
3. Permitted Use
Approved partners may use the data to:
- Cite aggregate UK bike-market figures in editorial work.
- Build read-only dashboards, research outputs or data visualisations that quote aggregate figures.
- Integrate aggregate figures into free or commercial products, subject to clause 5 (Attribution) and clause 6 (Prohibited Use).
4. Availability
Any endpoint or feed issued under a partner agreement is provided on a best-efforts basis. Cyclesite does not commit to a service level, uptime percentage or backwards compatibility. Endpoints, field names, units and response shapes may change as the underlying dataset and methodology evolve.
5. Attribution
When republishing or quoting a figure, partners must attribute Cyclesite. Acceptable attribution:
Source: Cyclesite UK Bike Value Index, cyclesite.co.uk
For online publication, the attribution must include a hyperlink to cyclesite.co.uk.
6. Prohibited Use
Partners must not:
- Attempt to reconstruct raw listings, sold transactions or personal data from the aggregates.
- Combine the output with other datasets in a way that identifies or targets an individual seller, buyer or retailer.
- Use the data to train a machine-learning model intended to compete with Cyclesite’s valuation or pricing tools without a separate written agreement.
- Present figures in a way that misrepresents scope, window or methodology.
- Share credentials, endpoints or feeds with third parties outside the scope of the agreement.
- Scrape the Cyclesite website as a substitute for, or supplement to, an agreed feed. Website scraping is separately prohibited by the Terms of Service.
7. Cost
Commercial terms are agreed in writing at the point of access. Cyclesite reserves the right to introduce paid tiers or usage charges at any time.
8. Warranty and Liability
Data is provided “as is”. Cyclesite does not warrant that figures are accurate, complete or fit for a particular purpose. Partners are responsible for satisfying themselves that any figure they cite is appropriate for the context.
Cyclesite is not liable for editorial, commercial or reputational losses arising from use of the data, nor for indirect, consequential or unforeseeable losses. Nothing in this section excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by UK law.
9. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by English law. The courts of England and Wales have non-exclusive jurisdiction over any disputes.
