What to have ready before you call or report online

• Frame serial number, usually stamped under the bottom bracket; 7, 14 alphanumeric characters.
• Make, model, year, colour , and any distinguishing features (stickers, scratches, non-original parts).
• When and where the theft happened , even an approximate window helps the force collate area patterns.
• Photos of the bike , ideally from multiple angles. Tag posts with the frame number on social media too, bike-shops watch the feeds.
• Receipt or proof of ownership , especially if you’re later claiming on household insurance.
