Common questions

Can I list on Cyclesite and eBay at the same time?

Yes. Most sellers do exactly that. List on as many marketplaces as you like, when the bike sells, just remove the other listings. Listing is free during our launch (standard pricing is a flat listing fee, not a percentage of the sale price, resuming after launch).

How is the listing fee different from eBay's percentage?

Listing is free during our launch. The standing model (resuming after launch) is a flat listing fee, agreed up front and shown before you publish, not a percentage. eBay and similar marketplaces take a percentage of your final sale price (typically 10-12.5%), so a £3,000 bike costs you £300+ at sale. On Cyclesite what your bike sells for is yours when you sell locally.

What happens if my bike sells on another platform first?

Just close the listing. Listing is free during our launch, and even under the standing flat listing fee (resuming after launch) the fee covers the slot, not a successful sale, so there's no claw-back to manage. Plenty of sellers list across multiple sites and pull the others when one buyer commits.

Can I reuse photos from eBay/Facebook?

Yes, upload the same photos directly. Most sellers paste the same description in too, then tweak the size/frame number for the wizard's stolen-check step.

Do I need to create a new account?

You'll need a Cyclesite account, which takes about 30 seconds. Email + password, or use Google sign-in. No phone-number verification.
