Editorial standards
Cyclesite publishes UK cycling guides, news and buying advice. We follow the editorial principles below for every piece we publish, and review this page at least quarterly.
Who writes our content
Every guide is signed by a named author or editorial desk. Authors are working cyclists, qualified mechanics or coaches with verifiable expertise — see the editorial team page for individual bios and external profile links.
How we fact-check
- Marketplace claims (used prices, stock levels, brand availability) are checked against live Cyclesite database queries before publication.
- Maintenance and fit instructions are replicated on a real bike by the workshop desk before they are published.
- Training and nutrition guidance is reviewed by a British Cycling qualified coach.
- UK-law statements (e-bike rules, lighting requirements, insurance positions) cite primary government or trade-body sources.
How we handle commercial relationships
Cyclesite earns revenue from listing fees on the marketplace and a small number of named partnerships disclosed at the foot of relevant pages. We do not run affiliate links inside editorial guides. We do not accept payment for inclusion in any review or buying guide. Where a partner product is referenced, it is labelled and linked to the partnership disclosure page.
How we use AI
AI models help us draft outlines, summarise marketplace data, and translate technical specifications into plain English. Every guide is reviewed end-to-end by a named human before publication. We do not publish AI-generated content as if it were written by a human, and we do not auto-publish translations or rewrites without review.
How we update guides
The Updated date on a guide changes whenever any change is made. The Last reviewed date only changes when an author has read the whole guide end-to-end and confirmed it remains accurate. Guides older than 12 months without a review are removed from category indexes until reviewed.
Corrections
We correct errors as soon as we know about them. If a correction is material we add a Corrected on [date] note at the foot of the article describing what changed. See our corrections policy for the full process and how to report an error.
Take-down requests
For factual disputes, GDPR removal requests, or right-of-reply enquiries, contact editorial@cyclesite.co.uk. We respond within five working days.
