Canyon Aeroad market data, updated as new sales are recorded
The Aeroad is Canyon's aero road bike and it sits at the sharp end of their range. This is the bike Mathieu van der Poel rides. It is built for one thing: going as fast as possible on flat and rolling roads. The Aeroad takes Canyon's direct to consumer value and applies it to a no compromise aero frame that would cost significantly more from rival brands.
The design is aggressive. Deep aero tube profiles, a fully integrated cockpit, internal cable routing, and tight clearances all contribute to one of the most aerodynamically efficient road frames on the market. Canyon invested heavily in wind tunnel testing and the results show in independent drag data.
On the used market, Aeroads are less common than Ultimates and Enduraces because Canyon sells fewer of them and owners tend to hold onto them. When they do appear, they command strong prices. The early generation had some well publicised issues with the handlebars, which Canyon addressed. Make sure any used Aeroad has the updated cockpit.
Fast. Properly, noticeably fast. The Aeroad carries speed with less effort than a conventional road bike, and the sensation of slicing through the air is addictive. Once you get above 30 km/h, the aero advantage becomes tangible. On flat roads and in time trials, it is a genuine weapon.
The ride quality is firm but not punishing. Canyon has managed to build in enough compliance to handle longer rides, though it is nowhere near as comfortable as the Endurace. The integrated cockpit gives clean aerodynamics but fixing a flat tyre or adjusting cables becomes a bigger job. This is a bike that rewards riders who prioritise speed above all else.
Time triallists, flat road racers, and speed obsessed riders who chase Strava KOMs on fast, open roads. Triathletes who want aero performance on a road frame. Strong riders who sustain speeds above 30 km/h where aerodynamics matter most. Not the right choice for hilly terrain, rough roads, or casual riding.
The current Aeroad (2021 onwards) is the relevant generation. Earlier Aeroad models were different bikes entirely. Within the current generation, 2022 onwards bikes should have the updated cockpit. Always verify this before buying. A 2022 or 2023 CF SL 8 with confirmed updated handlebars is the smart buy.
