Cannondale SuperSix EVO buying guide
The SuperSix EVO is Cannondale's flagship race bike and it is one of the most complete road bikes ever made. The latest version managed to be both lighter and more aerodynamic than its predecessor, which is a rare engineering achievement. With 240 listings tracked and an average used price around £4,800, it sits firmly in the premium performance bracket.
Cannondale has always been a brand that does things differently. The SuperSix EVO uses their proprietary SAVE micro-suspension in the rear triangle, an integrated cockpit with the SystemBar, and a frame that was designed from the ground up using AI and finite element analysis. Whether that engineering talk matters to you or not, the result speaks for itself on the road.
The used market is healthy. Most SuperSix EVOs sit between £2,850 and £5,570, with plenty of choice across spec levels. Like all Cannondale bikes, they tend to be well looked after because the brand attracts knowledgeable riders.
What it's like to ride
The SuperSix EVO is one of those rare bikes that does everything well. It climbs like a lightweight, descends with confidence, and holds speed on flat roads thanks to the aero tubing. The SAVE rear end adds a touch of compliance that makes it more comfortable than you would expect from a race bike.
The handling is balanced and composed. It tracks predictably through corners and stays stable at speed. The SystemBar integrated cockpit looks fantastic and is aerodynamically efficient, though it does limit handlebar adjustments. The overall feeling is one of a bike that has been meticulously engineered. Nothing feels like a compromise.
Who it's for
Serious road racers and ambitious club riders who want one bike that does everything at a high level. Sportive riders who also race crits and time trials. Riders who appreciate clever engineering and do not mind paying for it. Less suited to casual riders who would be better served by the Synapse.
Cannondale SuperSix EVO year guide
The 2020 redesign is the one that changed everything. It brought the aero tube shaping, SystemBar, and SAVE micro-suspension. These bikes are spectacular. The pre-2020 SuperSix EVO is a pure lightweight with no aero concessions, and it is still an excellent race bike at used prices. For the best value, a 2021 or 2022 Carbon with Shimano Ultegra is the sweet spot.
Cannondale SuperSix EVO, key things to know
- Check the SystemBar for cracks, especially at the stem junction. Carbon cockpits take significant loads
- Make sure you understand the Ai offset rear wheel spacing. Standard road wheels will not fit. This is important when buying used
- The Hi-MOD frame (used on more expensive models) is lighter but more fragile. Standard MOD is tougher and better suited to daily riding
- Most used SuperSix EVOs sit between £2,850 and £5,570. Below that is older or lower spec. Above is Hi-MOD territory
- Ask about headset and bottom bracket condition. The integrated design makes these service items more involved
- The older SuperSix EVO (pre-2020) without the integrated cockpit is easier to fit and maintain, and still a brilliant bike

Check the frame number before you pay. On a Cannondale it is not always in the obvious place, and a bike with no readable number is a bike you cannot verify.
